The Pilates Method consists of a wide range of exercises designed to condition both mind and body to achieve overall good health. Each move can be performed at different levels so they can be adapted to suit each individual’s experience, flexibility, strength and any underlying health issues. These are mat based classes so the only requirement is that you can get up and down from the floor.
Regular Pilates practise will strengthen your core which then protects your back and joints for all the normal activities of life. It will also improve your mobility and flexibility so you can move more freely with a greater range of movement. Pilates will also increase your awareness of your body and one of the greatest benefits can be improved posture so you look and feel better and avoid undue pressure on joints in your back and neck. We also focus on building endurance to enhance activities that you love – like walking, gardening or other sports. Pilates will also help improve your breathing, the quality of your sleep, release tension and boost your immune system.
The classes at the Village Centre are limited to a maximum of 10 students per class so you get individual attention and adaptations as needed. Its very friendly, relaxed and supportive so a great atmosphere to workout in.
Fees are generally £100 for a 12 week course – and booking for a course encourages regular attendance to make your Pilates as effective as possible. Fees can be paid in instalments if needed.
